TubeTalk: Your YouTube How-To Guide
Does adding captions to your YouTube video help it preform better?
Show Notes

We are constantly looking for methods to get our videos to rank on YouTube. The better the videos perform, the more views we get which then turn into subscribers.

One tool that YouTube has is the automatic captioning tool.
This essentially puts into text the words you are saying in your video.

Besides that fact that that is not 100% percent accurate, does captioning your video really help your video's performance? Do captions give you more engagement and watch time?
These are the questions I put to Ryan Sweeny, head of partnerships at rev.com - a professional captioning company and the conversation was pretty interesting!

In this episode you will learn:

  • What are captions and subtitles
  • What's the difference between human and machine captions
  • How do captions help your video
  • Do captions really help your video’s performance
